AMELIA VIOLET PROUSE
producer / editor / graphic designer

Amelia Violet Prouse began her film journey in the high school Film and Broadcast Production class taught by Matt Balzer. There, Prouse discovered her passion for filmmaking, especially when working as the producer for the Independence School News. At the same time, she participated in the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts, a 3-week program to earn college credit and learn from industry professionals.

In pursuit of her higher education, Amelia wrote and directed the short One Day which earned her the prestigious Francis Larkin McCommon Scholarship from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Prouse now resides in Savannah where she is working towards a BFA in Film and Television with minors in Editing and Producing for Film & Media.

The Violet

The violet in "Amelia Violet Prouse" is not only a representation of Amelia herself but of Violet Halvorson, Amelia's grandmother. As a dedication to her, Amelia has two violets tattooed on her upper arm, one for her and the other for her Grandma Vi.

The violet is symbolic of the love powering all of Prouse's work and is a connection to the friends and family who have helped her to become the filmmaker she is today.
